Casa Abadia - The Abbey

Find peace and quietness in Casa Abadia, a fully restored 17th century abbey. In the little mountain village Samitier the time seem to have stood still. Rush, traffic jams and work pressure don't exist there, and the rhythm is determined by the seasons. There's always time for a chat and visitors feel welcome. The inhabitants are proud of their old church, chapels and the 11th century castle ruin.

Next to the Abadia are several hiking trails, for example a trail of one and a half hour to two beautifully restored chapels and an 11th century castle ruin. Up here the views are magnificent and breathtaking. Close to the village are canyons with a spectacular walking trail through them, and many dayhikes are possible. You will always have a large variety of birds (of prey) flying around you. (This blog - though in Dutch - gives a nice impression.)

In our small B&B we have 4 rooms for guests: 3 spacious suites (which have their own private living-, sleep-, and bathroom) and 1 luxury room with a bed- and bathroom. In the garden with it's beautiful views of Samitier, sierra de Guara, Monte Perdido and the valley of rio Susia, you'll be able to enjoy a glass of wine and a good book. The famous wine region Somontano is close by and several winehouses offer tastings and tours.

In March spring really breaks through and nature is at it’s best. April and May are already perfect months for hiking here in the Spanish Pyrenees.
We love to share our knowledge about the region with you: Marja and Vincent know the stunning hiking trails, adventurous car journeys, the best local restaurants and the nicest shops (for example in the medieval town of Ainsa). This way you can enjoy your holiday in a very relaxed way and see the nicest spots without having to find it all out yourself.
At night time, you can also enjoy a 3-course meal (after reservation). Of course made with fresh and local products and herbs. Your host Vincent is a passionate chef who prefers the rustic kitchen. Besides that he often plays for our guests  (being a guitarist/singer) at night in the garden. Enjoy his acoustic guitar playing under a starry sky.

Your stay in the Abadia can also be combined with several arrangements.
